Founder & CEO of Instancy
Harvey Singh is a pioneer in the
field of e-Learning, Human Performance Technology, and Knowledge
Management and is the founder of Instancy, a knowledge-workflow
company, enabling the delivery of the right information, knowledge
and business intelligence in real-time on the web and mobile devices.
Prior to Instancy, Harvey served
as the Chief Learning Technology Officer at Centra Software after
the company he co-founded, MindLever, merged with Centra Software
a Real-time collaboration company. Harvey also served as an advisor
to e-Learning standards organizations like ADL (US DoD) and IMS
and was nominated as e-Learning Executive of the year in 2001.
At MindLever, Harvey was the visionary
and principal architect behind creating industry’s first
system for rapid interactive content authoring, management, and
personalization using a pioneering Learning Object and dynamic
content delivery methodology. MindLever received the intrepid
company of the year award in 2001 from NC Center for Entrepreneurial
Development.
Prior to MindLever, Harvey co-founded
Empower Corporation, an Online Learning product design firm, which
broke new grounds in the areas of simulation, game, performance
support and story-based learning environments. He has consulted
with and provided solutions to companies such as Oracle, Apple,
Microsoft, Cisco, Harvard Business School and US Department of
Defense on their e-Learning initiatives.
In 1993, Harvey also co-founded Empower India,
an off-shore development company producing cutting-edge multimedia
applications involving graphics designers, programmers, instructional
designers, and project managers. Empower was awarded the company
of the year in the innovation category by NCEITA (North Carolina
Electronics and Information Technology Association) in 1998.
In 1990-91, Harvey was involved in projects
at Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow research lab, a think-tank at
Apple Advanced Technology Group focused on the impact of technology
on learning. As a recognized thought leader in e-Learning, Harvey
is frequently invited to speak at national and international conventions
and to write articles and commentary on the topic of enterprise
learning.
Harvey has graduate degrees in both computer
science and education technology from Stanford University and
a bachelor's degree in computer science from North Carolina State
